While it also works well on aluminum siding, it is not suitable for use with steel.
It is important to note that the SL5 should not be used when PERMATABS are required to snap into finished trim. For this specific application, it is recommended to use the Malco SL1R or SL2R Snap Lock Punch. PERMATABS is a trademark of C & H Enterprises. Additionally, it is not recommended for use below 32° F (0° C).
Featuring a red vinyl grip, the Snap Lock Punch has a throat depth of 3/8" (9.5 mm) and a length of 9" (229 mm). With a net weight of 12 oz. (340 g), this tool is both lightweight and easy to handle.
